After a 35-year career in corporate communication, Larry Gavrich retired before his 60th birthday and combined two of his loves — golf and the written word — with a late-in-life passion, real estate. That mix of interests led to the creation of Home On The Course, an advisory service designed to assist his fellow baby boomers and anyone else looking to relocate from cold winter weather to a golf-oriented home in the Southeast. Over the last 15 years, Larry has successfully matched hundreds of couples and singles with their dream homes in the region.

To build his expertise, Larry has visited nearly 200 golf communities from Delaware south to Florida, plus a few in Alabama, Tennessee and Texas. He has interviewed numerous developers, real estate professionals, golf pros and general managers and written more than 1,000 articles and objective reviews about golf communities, many of them at his website, GolfCommunityReviews.com, and in his free monthly newsletter, Home On The Course. For publications like Carolina Living and New England Golf magazine, Larry has also shared observations about retirement golf lifestyles, emerging trends in golf real estate, insights into club membership and a wide range of other considerations for those for whom golf will be an important leisure activity.

Mindful that, on average, more than half those who live in a golf community do not play golf, Larry has also assisted clients for whom the beautiful landscaping, open green spaces and general financial stability of well-run golf communities are strong preferences.

A 1971 graduate of Rutgers University with a BA in English, and a former Vice President of Communication for a Fortune 50 global corporation, Larry resides in Connecticut with his wife, Connie, and their energetic dog, Coco.   Larry and Connie also own a vacation condo in Pawleys Plantation, in Pawleys Island, SC, on a Jack Nicklaus golf course. From there, Larry is in a good position to reach many of the best golf communities in the east and continue to update his knowledge about the market.
